In some plant lineages, habitat niches evolve slowly so that close relatives share similar niches and hence often locally coexist. Coexistence among close relatives can be advantageous or disadvantageous – and it may feedback on the evolution of the plants and cascade on the evolution of interacting animals. In my talk am going to explore some of these eco-evolutionary feedbacks.
